Our pets of the week are three darling kittens who are thriving in a foster home. Say hello to Cuddles, Po, and River! These three kitties are from the same litter and are just now weaning from their mama. It will be a few weeks before these boys are big enough to be neutered, but you can adopt them now and pick them up when they’re ready to go home!

Kittens like Cuddles, Po, and River don’t do well in a shelter environment; all kittens have weak immune systems and are highly susceptible to illness. Living in a foster home keeps them safe and healthy until they are big enough to be spayed/neutered, helps socialize them, and offers us clues about their “purrsonality.”

For example, here’s what we’ve learned about this batch of cuties, straight from their human foster mama:

Mr. Cuddles has the most adorable face you’ll ever see on a kitten. He should probably be a model. This little boy loves his mama, and he will love you too!

Po is your typical little boy. Playful, rowdy, with a zest for life.

River is such a sweetie pie and a cutie! This kitten, in particular, enjoys people and the pets they give.

Pets are happier and less stressed in a home environment, making them ready for adoption more quickly. In fact, many foster pets are adopted by friends or family of the foster, which is fun for everyone! DBCHS is actively seeking fosters to have on hand when needy animals require home care.
