Danville Police arrest Mississippi man on robbery charges

On Sunday June 12, at 4:53 p.m., the Danville Police Department responded to the area of Quality Inn for two individuals who were robbed at gunpoint. Officers contacted the victims and learned that the victims and alleged perpetrator were co-workers. The three were preparing to leave Quality Inn in their work vehicle.

The suspect identified as Christopher Q. Williams, 34, of Hazlehurst Mississippi, is accused of producing a handgun, pointing it at both victims and demanding their personal property, according to police. After gaining compliance from both victims, Williams fled the area on foot, police said.

At around 8 p.m., a Danville Police officer spotted Williams walking near Brenda Avenue and Hightower Road, and he was taken into custody without incident. A search of Williams yielded a Taurus 9mm handgun. Williams was booked into the Boyle County Detention Center on charges of 1st Degree Robbery and 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment.
