Starlight Movie Night

Watch a movie outside under the stars at the library every Friday evening this summer. First, join our Pre-show Party from 7:30-9:00 PM to visit the library and play games inspired by the evening’s movie. Then, set out your lawn chair in the Library Park to settle in to watch a movie perfect for the whole family. Movie starts at dusk (around 9:00 PM) with an expected runtime of 90-120 minutes. Food vendor options will be available for purchase during the Pre-show Party. The food vendor will vary each week. Possible options include Snowie Bus, Bee’z Street Eats, The Scoop, and Poppin J’s. (Inclement weather will move the film indoors. Any changes will be announced on the library’s social media pages.) More information, including film titles, can be found in the event listing on the library’s website.

Storytime with Ms. Libby

Join Ms. Libby for storytime at the library. Each week Ms. Libby will read stories and have a sensory activity for those in attendance. Storytime will be held on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:30 AM in the Community Room. Weekly videos will have ASL interpretation and can be found on the Library’s YouTube channel. (Ages 1-5)

Makin’ Waves

Unleash your creative side to make a splash with these ocean-themed art projects. Each week we’ll dive into a new craft inspired by sandy days, ocean waves, sea creatures, and more. On Monday, June 27 at 4:30 PM we’ll be making Ocean Animal Foil Art. This event will be held in the library parking lot, but will be moved indoors in the case of inclement weather. (Ages 13 & under)

Kids’ Book Club

On June 28 at 2:00 PM, kids can participate in trivia and enjoy snacks while discussing books from two of our favorite series, Magic Tree House and Geronimo Stilton. Pick up the book of the week at children’s desk, while supplies last. The book club will be held in the Community Room. (Ages 6-8)

Teen D&D

On Tuesdays from 2:00-4:00 PM, teens can play what some call the greatest role-playing game of all time. At this event, players will venture through campaigns that will test their ability to work together and conquer foes in this tabletop adventure. Registration is required to play. Go to www.boylepublib.org/teendnd to register. (Ages 13-18)

Youth Science Club

Test your STEM skills with ocean-themed science experiments on Wednesdays in June at 2:00 PM. We’ll be testing the waters, seeing what can float, and much more. Each week’s programs feature multiple science experiments you can try out for a variety of fun results, such as ocean in a bottle, bubbles, and plastic bottle boats. Activities can be adapted for participants based on their age or ability. This event will be held in the library parking lot, but will be moved indoors in the case of inclement weather. (Ages 13 & under)

Tom Sparough: Space Painter

As part of the Thursday FunDays performance series, on Thursday, June 30 at 10:30 AM the library will bring Tom Sparough: Space Painter to the Jennie Rogers Community Center. Tom Sparough is a juggler, storyteller, writer, and facilitator. He is known to hundreds of thousands of people as the Space Painter, which comes from a description of juggling that Tom received from a two-year-old child. His show is filled with skillful, humorous juggling and a generous helping of audience participation. In a delightful way, it explores the realm of the seemingly impossible, whether it is walking on the moon, or juggling on his head. It features death-defying ball juggling, plate spinning, and more.

All attendees of this program are eligible to receive a Summer Prize Button to add to their lanyard collection. The Bookmobile will also be there so attendees can check out library materials before and after the show. (All ages welcome)
