Marion Neil Bash, 78, of Danville, passed away June 12, 2022 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He was born in Portland, Indiana to the late Lester and Alice Ames Bash. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda Reynolds Bash.
Marion worked for KSD and retired from South Central Bell after 25 years. He loved his career and received monetary awards from Governors Martha Lane Collins and Wallace Wilkinson. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving for eight years on the USS John Adams and the USS Patrick Henry, ballistic missile submarines. He served as Post Commander of 332 American Legion in New Haven, Kentucky from 1975-1976. He loved photography and traveling, traveling to all 50 states and many countries.
Along with his wife, Brenda, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa Sharp of Ohio, Deborah Sue Hammond of Indiana and Merri Bright of Florida and a son, Adam Bash.
Marion is preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Schubert and Rosemary Bash and brothers, Lester, Donnie, Richard, John, Charles and Robert Bash.
Funeral services were held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Dr. Tim Mathis officiating. Burial followed at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday from 10am until time of service.
Pallbearers were Michael Ford, Chris Reynolds, Trevor Reynolds, David A. Bash, Paul David Bash, Clay Hardwick, Gregory Pina, and DeWayne Weakley.
Memorial contributions are preferred to First Baptist Church.
