NEWS RELEASE

Amber Hamlin

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center recognized Amber Hamlin, BSN, RN, as its first-ever DAISY Nurse Leader.  Hamlin, director of the Emergency Department at EMRMC, was one of many nurse leaders nominated for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. She is a resident of Boyle County and has been caring for patients at EMRMC for 16 years.

Hamlin was nominated by several members of her staff, who described her as a great leader who never lets her team down, even staffing the night shift and then returning for day shift after only a few hours of sleep. One person noted that Hamlin was instrumental in turning around the Emergency Department team morale after staffing issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. One staff member also noted how Hamlin appreciates the balance of work and home life while also expecting staff to provide the best patient care they can.
