Man arrested after pulling a weapon at Long Run Apartments

On Monday at 9:50 a.m. Danville Police responded to the area of North Hill N Dale for a verbal altercation involving a weapon.

Officers arrived and conducted an investigation.  Officers determined that Nathanuel L. Riley, 18, of Danville had confronted two individuals as they pulled into Long Run Community Apartments.  Riley had been walking in the area as the vehicle pulled in.

Riley accused the driver of traveling to close to him as he walked in the middle of the parking lot.  Riley then produced a firearm from his waistband.  According to the victims, Riley pulled back the pistol’s slide while holding the weapon at his side telling the individuals that this was his block.

Riley was located shortly after police arrival and taken into custody without incident. Despite extensive efforts including a search warrant at Riley’s residence the weapon had been discarded prior to the arrival of police and was not located.  Riley was charged with Menacing and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
