Burdetta Dollins Parson, 93

Burdetta Dollins Parson, 93, went to heaven August 24, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 8, 1929, to the late Charles and Bertha Dollins. She worked at Palm Beach for 50 years as well as Wal-Mart for 20 years. Burdetta always sacrificed for her family, raising four wonderful children on her own. She was a very sweet yet resilient lady. She was affectionately known as mamaw by all. She loved working in her yard, landscaping, and planting flowers. She loved her home of 45 years, especially having the family over for Sunday dinners. She was her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s first best friend. She loved traveling to the beach with her family and reading lots of books. Burdetta loved being a greeter, she made so many special friends from customers and co-workers, many came to visit her daily. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church for 68 plus years, she had a strong faith and dearly loved all her brothers and sisters in Christ. She was rich in love and the backbone of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Harold Parson; her brothers, Raymond Dollins, Randal Dollins, Willie “Bake” Dollins, Oscar Dollins, Thomas Dollins, J.B. Dollins; and her sisters, Gertrude Fathergill, Beulah Daly and Carrie Dennis; and her grandson, Edward D. “Mickey” Robertson IV.
She is survived by her children, Loudetta (Edward) Evans Robertson, Sonny (Cathy) Evans, Jayne (Shawn) Evans Moore and David (Tammy) Evans; one brother, Robert (Sandy) Dollins; her grandchildren, Jason Gibson, Stacie Anderson, Kelly (Nat) Weathers, Stephen Walls, Melissa (Brian) Walls, Jonathan Moore, Brittany (Tripp) Nickerson, Brandon Benedict and Michael (Shelby) Evans; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Phillips, Ethan Quinn, Jeremy (Lilli) Quinn, Makayla Southerland, Alexis Weathers, Nathan Weathers, Samuel Walls, Taylor Walls, Charlie Clarkson, Mackenzie Evans and Emmett Evans, her great-great grandchildren, Nora Welch- Quinn and Haven Weathers, her caretakers Sharon Sallee and Carol Gooch; special neighbor Tony Rolley and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Monday, August 29th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville, KY. Funeral services Tuesday, August 30th, at 1:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville, KY. Memorial donations are suggested to Gethsemane Baptist Church.
