The Ragnar Road Bourbon Chase came through Danville on Friday. The 200-mile, two-day relay event follows portions of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, beginning at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont and finishing in Lexington. Runners stop in towns along the way where they are greeted by locals and treated to Kentucky hospitality. Runners were treated Friday to cookies in Perryville before stopping in Danville at the Wilderness Trail Distillery and Weisiger Park. They continued to Stanford and then back to Danville at Millennium Park. Here are a few photos of as participants passed through. Named for a 9th century Viking, Ragnar stages overnight road and trail relay races to encourage others to set and achieve challenging goals through team effort. All photos by Lance Gaither.
