Perryville Battlefield held a civil war battle reenactment in honor of the battle’s 160th anniversary on Saturday and Sunday. Over 1,000 re-enactors were at the event along with thousands of onlookers.

Around the site, people could walk through Union and Confederate soldier camps where women and men in period clothing stayed overnight in tents. Attendees could see tents where a blacksmith worked, a medical tent, an old-time photographer station, and could purchase period clothing and other items.

Downtown Perryville hosted its commemoration celebration Friday and Saturday, including a parade down Main Street. People enjoyed the many art and food vendors, museums, pioneer exhibits and re-enactors, and history presentations.
