Fishy situation ends in arrest and multiple charges

STAFF REPORT

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 8:31 p.m. Danville Police responded to Long John Silver’s in Danville Manor Shopping Center regarding a male subject causing a disturbance. 

Upon arrival, officers learned that the person in question was acting erratically and disturbing other customers and employees. Officers attempted to talk to the subject and get him to leave the restaurant. The individual, identified as Justin Hamilton, 43, of Waynesburg, refused to leave after multiple requests to do so. Hamilton sat down in defiance despite the threat of arrest. Officers attempted to calm Hamilton’s escalating behavior. After several attempts Hamilton was told he was under arrest. The subject resisted officers’ attempts to take him into custody and began to pull away but was taken to the ground.

While on the ground the subject tucked his arms underneath his body and told one officer, he was going to kill him. Officers attempted to utilize a taser to bring Hamilton under control, but it was ineffective. The subject was able to get up and flee toward the front door. Another officer arriving for assistance was able to effectively deploy his taser which brought Hamilton under control. Hamilton was taken into custody without further incident. Hamilton was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing 2nd degree, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening.
