The Danville Independent School District will be extending Thanksgiving Break by closing school on Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The DISD works hard to ensure our attendance numbers stay high. We want to avoid our attendance percentage falling below 87%. Currently, our percentage is around 86%, largely due to illness among students. Sometimes the district has to make the decision to close school if illness is having a large enough impact on attendance. We want to ensure our students and staff stay safe and healthy — this is always our top priority.

We hope these additional days our schools are closed give you and your families time to rest, recover if ill, and stay healthy as you enjoy Thanksgiving Break.
