Danny Lee Gipson, 78, of Danville passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022. Born July 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lena Benedict Gipson. Danny was a dedicated employee and retiree from LG&E and KU. He was a longtime member of the Nazarene Church. His most important life values were, first, his faith in Jesus Christ and then hi s deep love for his family and friends. Nothing brought Danny more joy than time spent with his family and friends.Danny and his wife, Gloria Rainey Gipson, celebrated 60 years of marriage in July of 2022. Along with Gloria, Danny is survived by daughters, Tammy Gipson of Danville and Kimberly and her husband, Rev. Dr. David Calhoun of Russell Springs; brother, Gary (Nancy) Gipson of Junction City; grandchildren: Jana (Dustin) Cooper of Cadiz, Abigail (Derrick) Calhoun-Kisita of Elizabethtown, and Sarah Calhoun of Lexington; and three great grandsons, Elijah, Michael, and Nathaniel Cooper. Danny was preceded in death by seven siblings: Helen Stone, James Gipson, Beulah Gipson, Robert Gipson, Ernest Gipson, Jr., Penny Gipson, and Ted Gipson. Visitation is 2-4pm Friday, December 16, 2022, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 4pm with Bro. Bobby Tolson and Rev. Dr. David Calhoun officiating.
