One Danville man was cited and released and another arrested and facing drug charges after police conducted a traffic stop recently.

On Thursday Dec. 29 at 3:20 p.m., Danville Police were conducting a narcotics investigation and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a moving violation. During the stop, officers identified the passenger, Darrielle St. Martin McNeal, 25 of Danville, and the driver, Darwin Cloyd, 31, of Danville.

Cloyd was found to be illegally possessing marijuana. St. Martin McNeal was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and hallucinogens in the form of mushroom. Police discovered 10 grams of methamphetamine and 14-plus grams of cocaine during the investigation.

Cloyd was cited and released on a traffic violation and marijuana possession charge.

St. Martin McNeal was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, trafficking heroin, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In another incident a few days later, police arrested a Danville man for an alleged burglary attempt.

At 4 p.m. on Jan. 2, Danville Police responded to the area of South 5th Street after receiving a call about an intoxicated male attempting to enter an apartment. Officers had already responded to the area earlier in the day for the male subject breaking an apartment window but were unable to locate the suspect.

Upon arrival, officers were told the male had fled the area on foot.  Police quickly located the subject near 5th Street and Walnut Street. Frederick Falor, 64, of Danville was determined to be under the influence and taken into custody. Further investigation determined that Falor had broken an apartment window and attempted to force entry into a residence by repeatedly forcing his shoulder against the apartment door.

Falor was arrested and charged with attempted burglary 2nd degree, disorderly conducted 2nd degree, drinking alcoholic beverages in public and criminal mischief 3rd degree. Police were unable to determine why Falor had targeted the apartment.
