Naomi Mae Burchett, 83, of Danville passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Born in Fryes Creek on October 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Burchett and Arlie “Sue” (Holt) Burchett. She had worked for Phillips Lumber and McKechnie Vehicle components and was an independent caregiver. She attended Fryes Creek Baptist Church. Naomi is survived by daughter, Tina Morningstar of Soperton, Georgia; son, Michael Gene (Francine) Reed of Mount Sterling; nephew, Dearl (Kerri) Burchett of Danville; 2 sisters: Josie Goins of Danville and Pam Luster of Crab Orchard; 6 grandchildren: Kyle (Whitney) Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Dalen (Katie) Reed, Shawn Morningstar, Brantley Reed, and Treyton Reed; and 2 great-grandchildren: Noah Roberts and Wyatt Reed. She was preceded in death by son: William Samuel Roberts; 5 brothers: Roger Dale Burchett, Buford Ray Burchett, William “Billy” Rueben Burchett, Garnet Lee Burchett, and James Curtis Burchett; and 6 sisters: Georgia Christine Burchett, Iva “Louise” Scott, Sadie Durham, Piney Sue Lane, Lucille Gilbert, and Jewel Scott. A funeral service will be held at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 1:00 PM with James Hansel officiating. Burial will follow in Mayes Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be Dearl Burchett, David Luster, Justin Luster, Dalen Reed, Dale Gilbert, and Rodney Scott.
