Marley and Mack are this week’s featured pets. Which of ‘M is right for you?

Macaroni, Big Mac, and Mr. Mack are some of Mack’s many nicknames. He’s the perfect medium-sized cuddle buddy, no matter what you call him. Besides being a master snuggler, Mack enjoys playing. He’ll shake a stuffy toy vigorously, zooming around the yard with a smile.

Mack is a staff favorite who loves people once he gets to know them. He adores his caretakers! When volunteers bathed him, Mack was a very good boy. It didn’t bother him that they scrubbed and massaged his body; he was busy enjoying the peanut butter! By the end of the grooming session, Mack had new friends.

Mack needs someone passionate about helping him overcome his anxiety around strangers. He’ll thrive with a patient family that allows him to decompress, settle in, and show his personality. It might take multiple visits to the shelter to get to know Mack, and it will be worth it. We have the time if you do!

Look at sweet little Marley: she’s only a year old, and at 25 pounds, she’s a ton of fun in a small package! A darling pup with a white coat and perky ears, Marley grins at everyone she meets; she looks serious in her photo because she is concentrating on the camera.

Marley prances instead of walking down the hall! She holds her head high as she walks, knowing how adorable she is. Happy-go-lucky Marley is easily distracted, stopping for pets from everyone she sees.

The most notable thing about Marley is that she’s deaf. Hearing-impaired dogs live happy, healthy lives and aren’t any different than their hearing canine pals. All dogs need to learn good doggie behavior: Marley requires a different approach because deaf dogs use visual cues instead of spoken commands. Marley’s deafness isn’t an obstacle; it’s an opportunity!

Marley and Mack are fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home as soon as possible. Meet and greets are held Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.; bring your family–dog included!
