Danville Sister Cities Commission announces its second Young Artists Showcase for all local students age 13-18. The SC International theme for 2023 is “Peace by Piece: Food Security in My Community.”

Students can submit drawings, watercolors or paintings to the person designated by their school. The works submitted will then be displayed in a public exhibition in April with prizes of $100, $50 and $25.

Artworks should reflect how we value food, what food security means in Boyle County, or how students might contribute to food security for everyone. The deadline for schools to submit works to the SC Commission is April 1.

The winners of the local competition will be entered into the SC International competition, which has prizes of up to $1,000.
