Boyle County’s Road Department will be busy this summer with construction of a new bridge over Buster Pike, and two roads will be resurfaced.

Judge Executive Trille Bottom announced Boyle County has received $196,400 of the Discretionary Road Aid from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, to aid in the repair of county roads.

“We are grateful to receive these funds to resurface Alum Springs Road (CR 1102) and Springfield Road (CR 1334). These two roads are in need of maintenance, but the cost exceeded our annual budget allowances. I am grateful for Governor Andy Beshear’s attention to Boyle County’s needs and for funding these two projects,” said Bottom.

• Alum Springs Road will be resurfaced from mile point .786 north to Lebanon Road, (SR 34), approximately .755 of a mile.

• Springfield Road will be resurfaced from mile point 2.454, east to US 150, approx. 1.2 miles.

• The Buster Pike bridge project is scheduled to begin this week.

Public Works Director Roger Johnson said they hope to begin these resurfacing projects as soon as the asphalt plant opens; hopefully in April.
