The Spring 2023 Regional Job Fair will be held at The Showroom on Friday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Showroom at 2405 Lebanon Road in Danville.

The event was organized by the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce and the Danville-Boyle County Development Corporation’s Workforce Development Committee. It is the largest regional job fair held yet, with 40 employers in attendance.

The job fair will feature employers from Boyle, Marion, Washington, Mercer, and Lincoln County; and from several different industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, education, social service, and others.

“Regionality is extremely important, especially for a county like Boyle,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeff Jewel. “Even though we have a good population and a lot of great employers, we are still really small geographically. We think these cross regional efforts are so important.”

Economic Development Corporation Workforce Development Specialist Harold Nally wanted to expand the job fair when he discovered that many workers in Danville come from surrounding communities.

“There should be something for anybody looking for any particular job or career,” Nally said. “One of the things I have done is go around to different manufacturers and businesses and would ask people where they are from. There is a lot of traffic that flows in and out of Boyle County.”

The job fair will feature free food and a live broadcast from Hometown Radio WHIR 103 FM/1230 AM. ASL interpreters will be provided.
