Teen D&D

On Saturday, March 25 from 2:00-4:00 PM teens can play what some call the greatest role-playing game of all time. Players will venture through campaigns that will test their ability to work together and conquer foes in this tabletop adventure. (Ages 13-18)

Adult D&D

The library offers a Dungeons & Dragons club for adults that meets at the library on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Adults can join a session on Sunday, March 26 at noon or 4:30 PM. No experience is necessary, but registration is required. To register, sign up at the library or email library@boylepublib.org. (Ages 18+)

Morning Storytime & Afternoon Storytime

Join us for storytime at the library! Each week we will read stories and have a themed sensory activity for young children to enjoy. Morning Storytime will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 AM. Afternoon Storytime will be held on Thursdays at 12:30 PM in the youth department. In March, an ASL interpreter will be at Storytime on Tuesdays. Toddlers and preschoolers are all welcome to attend with their caregivers. (Ages 2-5)

Growing Gardeners

On Tuesday, March 28 at 6:00 PM, kids and families can learn about seeds – their past, present, and future. In March let’s talk about seeds–their differing shapes and sizes, as well as their needs to grow into healthy strong plants.  Participants will learn about growing seeds and plant something to take home and nurture. Growing Gardeners is hosted by members of The Garden Club of Danville and Resilient Boyle in partnership with the library. This event will be held in the Community Room. (Kids & Families)

Make a Mess

On Wednesday, March 29 at 4:00 PM, let your imagination run wild with hands-on, creative projects and experiments. The goal of the program is to try new things with no fear of the mess you might make in the process. This month we’ll be making a mess painting with anything but a paintbrush – try painting with feathers, stamps, branches, and more! This event will be held in the Community Room. (Youth and Families)

Teen Game On

Teens are invited to play Nintendo Switch and board games at the library on Fridays from 3:30-5:30 PM. This event will be held on the 5th Level of the library. (Ages 13-18)

Women’s Self-Defense Class

Shinji Matsuda, martial arts professional, will offer a free, introductory class on women’s self-defense at the library on Saturday, April 1 at 3:00 PM. An additional class will be offered on May 6. Registration is required. To register, visit the event listing on the library’s website at BoylePubLib.org. Participants may sign up for either date. This event will be held in the Community Room. (Ages 18+)

Free Tax Prep

The Boyle County Public Library has once again partnered with the AARP Foundation and the United Way of the Bluegrass to host free tax preparation service. Tax professionals will be set up in the library each week on Tuesdays and Saturdays through April 18th to assist people with the tax filing process. This service is made possible through Tax-Aide and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs. These tax preparation services are available by appointment only.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide tax assistance services will be available on Tuesdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Although anyone can make an appointment, the program is especially focused on low-to-moderate income taxpayers who are age 50 and older. To make an appointment, call 859-374-0489 or email 500052568@aarpfoundation.org.
