She will be joined by Danville coach Judie Mason, who will be part of the coaching staff for the third consecutive year.

Mays averaged 21.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists for Danville, ranking second in the 12th Region and 18th in the state in scoring.

The 5-7 guard was voted The Advocate-Messenger 2022-23 Area Girls Basketball Player of the Year, and she committed to UT Martin last month.

Mays led another Kentucky all-star team to a victory in the Kentucky-Ohio All-Star game last month. She was named her team’s most valuable player after scoring a game-high 23 points in the Kentucky stars’ 117-94 win over Ohio.

Mason, who was an assistant coach on that team, will coach in the Kentucky-Indiana series for the second time in three seasons.

She was an assistant coach with the 2021 Kentucky team, then was the head coach of the 2022 team that split its two-game series with Indiana. She will again be an assistant under head coach Pete Fraley of Boyd County.

The Kentucky and Indiana all-stars will square off June 9 in Owensboro and June 10 in Indianapolis.
