Guy Michael Jones, age 63, of Stanford, formerly of Somerset, passed away on April 23, 2023. Guy was born on April 23, 1960 to James Everett Jones and Ethel Marie Padgett in Somerset. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Danville. He was honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel. Guy was a contract carrier for the US Postal Service and he was also known as the “Vegetable Man” in Stanford. He was married to Tonya Jones on June 21, 1980 in Nancy, KY.
Survivors include his wife; Tonya Jones of Stanford, one son; Kirk Henry Jones of Stanford, one daughter; Jenny Jones (Ian) Gervasi of Columbia, MD, two grandchildren; Luca Gervasi and Lorenzo Gervasi, two brothers; Douglas E. Jones and Gregory Jones, three sisters; Brenda Barnett (Herman Lewis), Linda (Gary) Floyd and Lori Herring.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Guy Michael Jones, Jr. as well as his brothers, Charles David Jones and Walter Roy Jones.
Visitation for Guy will be Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY 42503.
His funeral service will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Meece officiating. Burial will be at the Saline Cemetery.
