Commission says farmers market accounts for new business licenses

During the recent Davnille City Commission meeting, commissioners received an update on business licenses issued in the city. So far, the city has issued 161 business licenses this year. City finance director Leigh Compton said that the farmer’s market is the reason for the increase in issued licenses.

In other news from the meeting, the commission passed the following resolutions:

• A resolution to for Boyle County buses to transport children participating in parks and recreation day camp for their daily lunch. The fee for the use of the buses is $3,847.50.

• A $92,200 fee increase for the sewer project on Clarks Run and Lebanon Road for changes in the scope of work.

• A payment of $79,800 to Bell Engineering for the survey and assessment Sub Basin F that covers drainage for Maple and Lexington avenues.   

• A change order of $8,500 dollars for the removal of asbestos at the old fire station before its demolition.

• A change order of $1,593.51 to install a new water shutoff valve at Jeannie Rogers Community Center to allow water for each wing to be turned off separately rather than building wide.

• A change order of $17,640 for the installation of a retaining wall and fencing at Millennium Park tennis courts.
