Mary G. Hogsett Primary School students who won or were finalists in the KET Young Writers Contest were recognized at the May 22 Danville Independent Schools board of education meeting. The contest was very competitive, with more than 2,000 submissions. Congratulations to these students:
• Rouen Inouye Adams, 1st place winner in Early Childhood Illustrated Story
• Beau Schweickhardt, Finalist in Short Story in Early Childhood Division
• “Mo” Mullins, Finalist in Graphic Novel in Overall Division
• Norah Anderson, Finalist in the Early Childhood Illustrated Story
• Rilyn Steele, Finalist in the Early Childhood Illustrated Story
• Saoirse Harney, Finalist in the Early Childhood Illustrated Story
Rouen won a $100 Amazon card for being first place in her division.
