Emily “Sue” Bottom, 78, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024. Sue was the daughter of the late Bryan and Ivy Pearl Cocanougher Yankey and was born November 30, 1945 in Washington County, Kentucky.

Sue was a former Office Manager for the Perryville Battlefield for 27 years and volunteered for 12 years. Sue deeply loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue also loved going on trips and would spend a lot of time riding in the car. Sue loved music and the beach, where she once spent 10 straight winters at Myrtle Beach. Sue was also a member of Perryville Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Harvey Bottom, a son, Scott (Jana) Bottoms, a daughter, Karen (Greg) Wilson, five grandchildren, Evan (Rhiannon) Wilson, Kyle (Emily) Bottoms, Blake Bottoms, Chad (Helen) Young, and Clay Young, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Ruby Carpenter, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by four brothers, Garland Yankey, Red Yankey, Shorty Yankey, and Rastus Yankey, two sisters, Joanna Bottoms, and Mildred Catlett.

The memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2024 at Walden Funeral Home with Duane Dunagan officiating, the burial is private and will be at a later scheduled date. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Walden Funeral Home.
