Donald Putteet

Donald Chester Putteet, 88, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on January 30, 2024 at home. Don was born to the late William and Audrey Terry Putteet in Casey County, Kentucky on August 19, 1935.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Don worked at Gavin Press in Danville, Kentucky. He was ordained as a Deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church. He then relocated to Orlando, Florida where he retired from Duplex Products. During his time in Orlando he volunteered as an Auxillary Member of the Florida Highway Patrol.
After his retirement he moved back to Kentucky with his family where he served in an elected position as a Councilman for the city of Junction City. While there, he enjoyed spending time on his farm in Perryville.
In 2003 Don then relocated back to Florida with his family where he spent time enjoying his grandchildren. He had many hobbies, some of which included boating, fishing, hunting, and time at the gun range.
Along with his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Putteet (Talmadge) Coy of Marine City, Michigan.
Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette Putteet, his daughter Renee Scott (Tim), his granddaughters Morgan Henderson (Ross), and Madison Turner (John John), his great-grandson Easton, and great-granddaughters Autumn and Sage. He is also survived by his sister Carol Putteet (Guy) Reed, of Perryville, Kentucky.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Immediately following the service all family and friends are invited to gather for a meal in remembrance of Don at Black Pond Baptist Church, located at 3644 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida.
