Tryston Ford, who served as interim coach for Danville boys basketball this season, has been promoted to head coach.
Ford took over a rebuilding team with almost no varsity experience, leading the Admirals to a 6-22 record in his first season.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity and I’m excited to continue to build relationships, lead young men and to teach the game of basketball,” Ford said in a statement released Tuesday by the school.
A 2012 Danville graduate, Ford played for Kentucky State University and was an assistant coach with the Danville girls before being named the boys’ interim coach in June 2023.
“We are excited to remove the interim tag from Coach Ford’s title making him the Head Boys Basketball Coach. We look forward to a bright future for Admiral Basketball,” Danville principal Chad Luhman said in the statement.
