Danville Summer Singers, now in its 38th season, will present a concert titled “From Darkness to Light” at 7:30 p.m. on July 30 at the Presbyterian Church at the corner of 5th and Main Streets.

This free concert traces profound grief, through hope, prayer, and a search for meaning and bravery to the light offered by love, openness and the many promises of living found in working together in friendship.

The group has 68 singers, from early high school age to senior citizens in their 80s.  Some songs will be familiar and others – like a rip-roaring arrangement of the spiritual “O! What a Beautiful City” – may surprise and delight.  They hope to move and entertain the audience.

Though free, the choir will appreciate contributions (cash or check made out to Danville Children’s Choir) to help fund their trip next summer to participate in the Queen City Children’s Choir Festival in Cincinnati.
