Biscuit Daddies, a bakery selling a variety of craft sweet and savory biscuits, is now open in downtown Danville.

Biscuit Daddies is owned by Steven Moore and his husband Todd Burgess-Moore. They started Biscuit Daddies less than a year ago and quickly gained fame as they brought their biscuits to local farmer’s markets and other events.

“We started everything through social media. We have met people at their place of work or even the grocery store to drop off biscuits,” Moore said.

They knew they needed a permanent place to set up shop with the success the business was seeing.

“The store has been going really well. It is a steady stream of people; we are selling out pretty much every day,” Moore said. “People kept asking when we were going to open a store. We knew summer farmer’s markets would be coming to an end in the fall. So we just decided we would go ahead and open a store. Danville has been great; everyone has been very welcoming.”

Moore has always had an interest in baking and was inspired to start the bakery after using biscuits to make cinnamon rolls.

“I’ve always made really good biscuits and gravy,” Moore said. “I was sitting at home one night craving a cinnamon roll. I didn’t want to wait for the yeast to rise, so I decided to turn a biscuit into a cinnamon roll. It ended up being crazy good. I started doing other flavors, too. Todd kept pushing me and pushing me to sell them. After a week of convincing, I said let’s try it, and it has blown up.”

Biscuit Daddies is located at 115 Third Street in downtown Danville. Store hours are 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the store being closed on Sunday and Tuesday. Store hours will be expanded at a later date.
