Danville Police Department hosting Citizen’s Police Academy

Published 5:15 pm Tuesday, August 20, 2024

The Danville Police Department will be hosting its Citizen’s Police Academy from September 17 through October 22. Classes will be held every Tuesday night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There will be no class on October 8. The course is free.

The purpose of the Citizen’s Academy is to provide the citizens of Danville with a better understanding of the capabilities of the Danville Police Department and to facilitate a partnership with the community.

The Danville Police Department believes the Citizen’s Academy will increase the community’s awareness and understanding of law enforcement capabilities (and limitations) thereby promoting more realistic expectations. It is also our belief that through a positive and informative medium, a strong partnership will develop between members of the community and the Police Department to make Danville a safe environment to live and work.
