The Boyle County Public Library offers free activities, special events, online resources, and numerous services for the community. Programs often include storytimes, crafting programs, art exhibits, and gaming events. Here is a closer look at the upcoming events at the library:
YA Creative Club
Join us each week for YA Creative Club, where tweens and teens can create fun crafts and learn new artistic skills while relaxing, eating snacks, and hanging out with other creatives. Each session is suitable for artists and crafters of all skill levels. New and returning members are always welcome! On Tuesday, September 3 from 3:30-5:00 PM, we’ll get crafty at “Crafternoon.” Get inspired as you explore the library’s collection of artistic materials and crafting supplies. Let your imagination guide you to create something new and exciting to take home at the end of the day! This event will be held in the Tech Area Lounge on the 5th level of the library. (Ages 11-17; Grades 6-12)
“Memories Worth Remembering” Writing Workshop
Beginning on Tuesday, September 3 from 5:30-8:00 PM, local author Paul Stansbury will lead a four-part workshop on recording and authoring a collection of your life experiences, later shared in a published work. You will have the opportunity to discuss ideas, receive feedback, and improve your writing in an instructional environment. The remaining three sessions will be held on September 12, 17, and 26 at 5:30 PM. This workshop series will be held in the Conference Room. (Ages 18+)
Library Game Night
Join us for Library Game Night on Tuesday, September 3 from 6:00-8:00 PM. This is a social event for all-ages where you, your family, and your peers can enjoy a fun night of pizza, competition, and cooperation.
