‘On Aug. 28, the 1828 Chateau, a wedding and event venue in Perryville, celebrated their grand opening. Based in the old Perryville Presbyterian Church building and co-owned by sisters Jessica and Nicole Fox, the 1828 Chateau is a complete wedding venue with dressing suites and catering partnerships.

The 1828 in 1828 Chateau is the year that the Perryville Presbyterian Church was founded and holds special meaning to the sisters.

“I was doing research on the church and wanted to find out everything about it,” said Jessica Fox. “I found out it was founded on February third, 1828. February third is my sister’s birthday, Aug. 28th is my mother’s birthday.”

The sisters bought the church sight unseen through an auction. Jessica had a long-time dream of buying a church building, and Nicole had a life-long dream of owning an event venue.

“People ask what brought us to Perryville, I say it was God,” Jessica Fox said. “There was a house up for auction I was looking at then this church popped up on the page. I didn’t know where Perryville was, The auction had three hours left. When we won the church in the auction, we asked ourselves what we were going to do with it. We drove here the next day to look at it.”

Nicole Fox is thankful for the community support the sisters have received throughout the process of opening the 1828 Chateau.

“We have fallen in love with Perryville and Danville,” Nicole Fox said. “We thank everybody. It would not have been a success without all of you. There are so many people who have helped us. People have been calling us up, asking what they can bring us to help. That doesn’t happen in Florida or California; it happens in Perryville.

The 1828 Chateau is located at 303 South Bragg Street in Perryville. For more information, visit their website at 1828chateau.com.
