Danville boys reach All ‘A’ soccer semifinals

The Danville boys reached the semifinals of the All “A” Classic boys soccer tournament for the sixth time in 12 appearances before bowing to Louisville Collegiate on Saturday in Louisville.

Danville (11-4) lost to Collegiate 8-0 at Collegiate Turf Field hours after defeating Louisville Holy Cross 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

Jonathan Hernandez, Tyler Clarkson and Andrew Lamb scored goals in the quarterfinal win over Holy Cross. Abel Goodwin had two assists; Sasha Wade had one.

In the semifinals, Collegiate scored six goals in the first half and ended the game on the mercy rule in the 61st minute. The Titans went on to win their second consecutive All “A” championship and their ninth overall on Sunday.
