Heather Lyn Slone, 59, passed away on October 8, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on November 8, 1964, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Diane Boisclair and the late William Hight. Heather was a beloved spouse to Cleophas Slone, a devoted mother to Ben, Stephanie, and Bradley, and a cherished Mimi to her grandchildren.
From her teenage years as a varsity cheerleader at Edison High School to more recent years as Mimi, Heather brought joy and kindness to those around her. Her stroganoff recipe was unmatched, her crochet creations were one-of-kind, and her compassionate spirit was a gift she passed on to her three children.
During her winters in southern Florida, Heather found solace in the beach’s sandy shores (but not so much the ocean’s waters). The campers of Lakeside Resort could expect to see her power-walking around the park early on a clear summer morning. Her sisters often found her blue eyes sparkling and her smile laughing during their regular FaceTime chats. Her mother recalls her standing proudly in her cap and gown at the University of Akron, the first of her three daughters to graduate college.
At the age of sixteen, Heather fell for the love of her life. Whether they were running a small business, building a house with their own four hands, or raising their kids, Heather remained a generous and committed partner to her husband through every season of their loving journey.
She is survived by her family, her husband Cleophas D. Slone, her mother Diane Boisclair, her children Ben (Natalie Orms) Slone, Stephanie (James) Overing, and Bradley (Laura) Slone, her sisters Holly (Mark) Charville and Heidi (Tom) Keller, her grandchildren Olivia Overing, Jackson Overing, Caleb Overing, and Owen Slone, and her mother & Father-in-law Cleophas & Joy Slone, along with her extended family and friends.
Heather’s life will be honored at a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with Pastor Michael Slone officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., October 14, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.
