The Danville passing game produced one of its best performances of the season but was unable to produce any points Friday as the Admirals fell to Breathitt County 50-0 at Jackson.

Quarterback Naythan Doyle had a season-high 21 completions for the Admirals and threw for 136 yards.

But Danville (0-9, 0-3 District 2A-6) was turned away in Breathitt territory three times and was shut out for the fifth time this season in a loss that locked the Admirals into fourth place in their district.

Meanwhile, Breathitt (4-5, 2-1) used a balanced attack to score on its first five series, taking a 36-0 lead that triggered the running clock with 4:11 left in the first half at the Mike Holcomb Athletic Complex.

Miles Hollon threw two touchdown passes and Jayden Gibson ran for two scores for the Bobcats, who had 237 passing yards and 216 rushing yards to outgain the Admirals 453 yards to 144.

Danville’s Doyle was 21 for 35, and the freshman finished 2 yards short of his career high for passing yardage set in the season opener against East Jessamine.

Jutayvion Beasley caught seven passes for 27 yards and Trinden Sellers had six receptions for 53 yards. J’Kalvin Walker and Gavin Walker had four catches each for 39 and 20 yards.

Danville didn’t get a first down, however, until its third series, when Doyle converted on third down on a 5-yard pass to J’Kalvin Walker and on fourth down on an 11-yard pass to Beasley.

The Admirals drove 46 yards to the Breathitt 15-yard line before an interception at the 9 brought the drive to a sudden halt.

Sellers intercepted a pass late in the first half at the Danville 19 and the Admirals made it to the Breathitt 42 before an interception in the end zone on the final play of the half.

Danville drove from its own 41 to the Breathitt 23 before turning the ball over on downs on the first series of the second half.

Breathitt added a pair of touchdowns in the second half and attempted an onside kick after its final touchdown with about two minutes to play.

Hollon was 10 for 12 for 237 yards, while Gibson had a game-high 70 rushing yards and Eli Thomas had 69.

The Tigers average 190 rushing yards and 125 passing yards.

Danville will travel to Beechwood, the first-place team in District 5, on Nov. 8 for a game in the Class 2A playoffs.
