Margaret Christine Davis, 97, of Danville, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at Morning Pointe of Danville. She was born on June 3, 1927, to the late John Clarence and Mary Lorene Gafford of Indian Mound, Tennessee. Chris was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John C. Davis. After graduating from high school, she moved to Nashville, going to work for the AT&T phone company. While living in Nashville she met and eventually married John C. Davis who passed away in 2017. They relocated to Danville, Kentucky in 1949 where she eventually went to work in the Bellsouth business office in the early 1960’s. She is a member of the Centenary Methodist Church in Danville where she served as treasurer for the John Pruitt Bible Class for many years. Chris is survived by two sons, John Stephen Davis (Jomin) and Mark Joseph Davis, both of Danville; two grandsons, Oliver Davis of Perryville and Collins Davis (Allison) of Danville; four great-grandchildren: Audra, Cora, Knox, and Ella Davis and a sister, Betty Cleghren of Erin, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John C. Gafford and Samuel Joseph Gafford. Private services will be held at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
