Roberta “Bertie” Locker Duggins, 95, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Lancaster. Bertie was born on July 13, 1929 in Paint Lick to the late Owen and Elizabeth Locker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Silas Maywood Duggins. Bertie was a wonderful seamstress, working for the National Casket Factory for many years and was a farmer by heart. Taking care of everyone was her favorite thing to do and she did it so well. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and she loved Jesus. Bertie was a faithful member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Danny Duggins (Donna) of Winchester, Larry Duggins (Judy) of Lancaster and Mike Duggins (Naomi) of Lancaster; six grandchildren: Rosemary Leigh Brothers, Rachel Gaines, Ryan Duggins, Brent Duggins, Chris Duggins and Alicia Foster; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister, Melva Dean Speaks of Stanford. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Chester and Elmer Locker and a sister, Anna Clark. Funeral services were 10:30 am on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Browning, Bro. Bill Rhodus, and Bro. Steve Horn officiating. Visitation was 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial followed the funeral service at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Pallbearers were Brent, Chris, Ryan, Dusty, Dawson, and Jeff Duggins. Honorary pallbearers were the Rilda Major Sunday School Class.
