Harold Lawson

1930-2018

Harold Lawson, 88, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018. He was a son of the late Luther and Mary D. Farney Lawson and was born February 26, 1930 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Harold and his beloved wife, Mattie Snedegar Lawson were married 68 years. Harold was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Danville. He retired after working 44 years as a pipefitter with Local #452 of Lexington. He also served in the Harrodsburg Unit of the Army National Guard for nine years. Harold loved retirement and kept very busy. He restored two 1929 Ford street rods, enjoyed going to car shows, and buying, selling and trading old hit and miss engines. He and Mattie would enjoy traveling to Florida to attend hit and miss engine shows. He was a wonderful neighbor over many years and was a faithful member of his church.

In addition to his wife, Mattie, survivors include his daughter, Pamela Dianne and her husband Rudy Henderson; and brother-in-law, Earl Snedegar.

Harold was preceded in death by his siblings, Dallas and Frank Lawson and Beatrice Arnold.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Bro. Rudy Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
