Shaker Village to hold Chamber Music Festival on Memorial Day weekend

NEWS RELEASE

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is pleased to welcome back the world-renowned musicians from New York’s Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center for the 15th annual Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass, presented by Baird Private Wealth Management and Baird Trust. The festival will feature four performances throughout Memorial Day weekend, May 27-28, 2023.

CMS Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han will present the performances in Shaker Village’s Meadow View Barn overlooking pastures and rolling hills of Kentucky bluegrass. In addition to performing themselves, Finckel and Wu Han will be joined by eight exceptional artists, many of whom are excited to be making return appearances at the festival. Chamber music fans will also enjoy two educational lectures in the Meeting House given by violinist James Thompson, open to all ticket holders, that will explore the history of pieces performed during the festival. Works presented this festival season include composers both familiar and new: Beethoven, Debussy, Mozart, Strauss, Schubert, Brahms and Tchaikovsky will all be performed. Complete music selections and artists for each concert can be viewed online at shakervillageky.org/events.

Ticketing for the event is offered at two levels: General Admission and Event Patrons. General Admission tickets begin at $50 per person and include daily admission into Shaker Village.

Patron ticketholders will enjoy a private preview concert, private dining with the musicians and reserved seating at each concert. Patron tickets begin at $1,250 per person.

Lodging and dining reservations are available during the festival. To book a room or make a reservation at The Trustees’ Table restaurant visit shakervillageky.org.
