The Boyle County Public Library and Lincoln County Public Library will be closed Monday, Sept. 5 for the Labor Day holiday.

Alumni Tailgate party to be held

The annual Boyle County High School Alumni Tailgate Party will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at the high school.

This year, the Class of 1966 will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Members of the class of 1966 will be recognized at the tailgate party and on the field during halftime of the game.

The cost for Alumni is $21, which includes the $10 annual fee ($5 for BCHS Alumni and $5 Boyle County Endowment Fund), a $3 discounted game ticket, and an $8 meal.

For guests, the cost is $11 ($8 meal and $3 ticket); for students, cost is $8 ($5 meal and $3 ticket). Children 4 or under are free and can have a hot dog meal. All proceeds support Boyle County schools.

The meal, provided by Hill ‘n Beans, will consist of a BBQ pork or rib eye sandwich, baked beans and cole slaw. The agenda will include: meal; recognition of distinguish alumni; prizes; and entertainment by cheerleaders, dance team and band members.

St. Asaph DAR annual meeting

The St. Asaph chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution will hold its first meeting of the year at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Danville Country Club. Judge Sara W. Combs, who serves on the Kentucky Court of Appeals, representing District 7, Division 1, will be the guest speaker. She will be speaking on the relevance of the U.S. Constitution today.
