Cemetery tour event was rainy, but history-packed
The James Harrod Trust would like to thank all those folks who attended the History Underfoot Cemetery tour last weekend. It was an excellent tour with really interesting characters.
Though we had high hopes, the weather proved to be difficult, with a torrential rain near the end of the Friday-night tour. We are sorry to those who got wet and that the last tour was interrupted.
It was a hard decision to make and we saw that we would be unable to conduct the tour at all on Saturday because of the forecast.
Also a special thank you to the actors: Ed Markunas as James Isenberg, Robert Preston as Major James Taylor, Annie Denny as Mrs. Margaret Robertson, Doris Bartleson as Mrs. Annis Hayes and Amalie Preston as Mrs. Mary Locke Abbell. There was so much wonderful local history portrayed by local talent. Hope you will come join us next year.
Chairperson, James Harrod Trust
