Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen Will Gain Insight into trails at Shaker Village during October meeting

Meeting is scheduled for October 6 at Mercer Extension Office

HARRODSBURG – Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen (FHBCH) will hold its October meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Mercer County Extension Office, 1007 Lexington Rd., Harrodsburg.  The speaker will be Ben Leffew from Shaker Village, discussing equestrian trails at the Village.

FHBCH will discuss upcoming activities, including monthly trail rides. The group will also have its monthly member spotlight.

“We have a number of activities planned for the coming months, including our Christmas party,” said Emily Dennis, FHBCH president. “This is a great time for current and new members to get involved.”

Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen serves members from the central Kentucky area.  Horse ownership is not required and visitors are always welcome. For more information about FHBCH, call 606-365-8393.

Based in Harrodsburg, KY, Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen is a local (501)(c)(3)  nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America’s backcountry. The group helps maintain local trails and works to insure that public lands remain open for recreational stock use.

Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen also support local charities, including equine-related groups and youth organizations. The group meets at the Mercer County Extension office the first Thursday of every month except during the summer and hosts monthly trail rides when the weather permits.
