Living on purpose: Your worth to God is beyond measure

Sometimes we feel down and discouraged and if we continue down this path, we will start thinking that our life is not really worth much and no one really cares. These are times when negativity starts following us around, whispering painful suggestions and lies from the dark side. On a positive note, there is some very good news; the Bible is the highest standard of absolute truth and within these instructions of divine wisdom it is clearly explained that God sees you as the most valuable treasure ever created. Since He is perfect and what He makes is perfect, all that is needed for us to be victorious is to believe it! “I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that, my soul knows well” Psalm 139:14.
There are many people today who suffer from low self-esteem and much of this is because of how they see themselves. We not only have two sets of eyes but we also live in two different worlds at the same time. Our natural, physical eyes process everything within this natural realm and our perception has a direct influence on our emotions. When we allow ourselves to be convinced that we have been sentenced to a life of failure and rejection, we feel sad, discouraged and worthless. However, when Christ comes into our life, He opens up our spiritual eyes in order for us to comprehend spiritual truth which gives us the ability to see ourselves the way He sees us. Until we go beyond the default way of thinking, we will not be able to see this true reality.
We are all vulnerable to becoming entangled with depression and feelings of low self-worth, but we can find relief from our pain by simply asking God to give us the correct vision. This miracle can provide a new understanding that will help us realize just how much He loves us and how valuable we are to Him. First Corinthians chapter six talks about those who have been bought with a price and now embrace and follow His way of thinking. So, if you have given your heart to Christ, and through redemption you now belong to God, how much does that make you worth? Let us consider that since the precious blood of Jesus is the highest payment that could be offered in existence, and it was given to set you free from sin and restore your relationship with God, it is time to accept that you are God’s most valuable possession and your worth is beyond measure.
All of the accusations and negative thoughts of fear, failure or hopelessness are smokescreens to deceive us and keep us in bondage. When Jesus willingly went to the cross you were on His mind and He would have gladly paid that price if you had been the only person that needed His salvation. Each day we face harsh resistance from the enemy of our soul, but we can stand boldly in confidence and encouragement when we choose to accept God as the author and finisher of our faith. “But thou O Lord are a shield for me; my glory and the lifter of my head” Psalm 3:3.
The Lord declares throughout His Word that you are highly accepted and praise His name, He does not consider our worth by what we can offer when He is calculating our value. He only considers who we are – nothing else. You see, value depends on how much someone is willing to pay and as John 3:16 declares, “For God so loved you, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” This means that God sacrificed His own Son for you which proves that you are worth more than anything. No one has ever paid a greater price than God paid for you and no one has more value in heaven or in earth than you. “Arise shine for your light has come, the glory of the Lord has risen upon you” Isaiah 60:1.
