The library will offer a Kid’s Book Club starting 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. The book club, for children ages 6-8, will meet every Tuesday for six weeks. Each week, we’ll read a different book from one of our favorite series, including “Geronimo Stilton” and “Magic Tree House.” The first book will be available in the Children’s Library upon registration, and will be discussed on Oct. 18. Children are invited to come discuss the books, and enjoy book-themed games, crafts, and refreshments.

• Third Thursday Book Discussion Group

The library offers a variety of book discussion groups each month, including the Third Thursday Book Discussion Group, which meets 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. This group is designed for anyone interested in discussing a wide variety of books in a group setting. On Thursday, Oct. 20, the group will discuss “Thunderstruck” by Erik Larson. Those interested in participating may pick up a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk in the library.

• Tween Event: Zombie Apocalypse

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, the library will host “Zombie Apocalypse.” Tweens (ages 9-13) can practice survival skills, camouflage techniques, and eat JELL-O brains as they prepare for an undead disaster. Register for this event in the Children’s Library.
