Evelyn Spears Hays

1924-2016

Evelyn Spears Hays, 92, of Harrodsburg, widow of John Y. Spears and Milton Earl “Buck” Hays, died Monday.

She was a retired Danville Corning Glass employee, and member of Ellers Memorial Baptist.

Survived by three children, Eileen Sheperson, Gravel Switch, Cathy Jones, Harrodsburg and John W. Spears, Danville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Adelbert Spears, and 10 siblings, Caroline, Lula, Ruby, Mary, Alfred, Monroe, Charles, Lillian, Ruth, and Anna Grace.

Service 2 p.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Kenneth Whitehouse, Rick Bolton and Doug Wesley, with visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
