A group of panelists with an array of experiences and expertise will headline the event. Each panelist is expected to speak for about ten minutes prior to the floor being opened for questions. The panelists include Megan Dove, whose experience as creator and founder of The Coloring Table has equipped her to talk about developing an idea from start to finish, as well as how to utilize crowdsourcing. David Williams from Burkmann Mills will speak about working in a partnership, buying out your partner, and bringing family members into your business. Patrick Heist, Chief Scientific Officer at Wilderness Trail Distillery, will talk about gaining state support and building a nationwide distribution network. Jerry Houck, owner of Cue on Main and Nellie Burton’s Steakhouse and Sports Bar, will speak about crowdsourcing and running multiple enterprises at once. Brad Kelly, owner of the Zaxby’s in Danville, will speak about buying into a franchise.

The event’s master of ceremonies will be Patten Mahler, assistant professor of economics at Centre College. Mahler joined Centre as instructor of economics in 2014 and her fields of interest include economics of education, labor economics, and public economics.

Those interested in attending the event are asked to send an RSVP to director@downtowndanville.com. Participants will need to bring their own lunch, but drinks will be provided.
