DANVILLE — Danville Police, Danville Fire Department and emergency crews responded to a collision involving a vehicle that drove through the front of the Verizon Wireless store at 1500 Hustonville Road Tuesday at 12:42 p.m.
Peggy Raider, 67, of Williamsburg said she was attempting to park a 2015 white Dodge Ram pickup truck in front of the Verizon store to go into the Personal Finance Company next door. When she was putting her foot on the brake to park, her foot slipped and hit the gas, she said.
“It happened so fast I couldn’t hit the brake,” Raider said.
According to a news release from police, Raider “lost control” of her 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck while pulling into a parking space.
Raider’s truck traveled through the building before hitting a wall shared with Personal Finance Company.
There were no injuries involved in the accident, according to police. Personal Finance Company was able to reopen following the wreck. The Verizon store was closed due to the accident. It was unclear Tuesday afternoon how long the store would have to be closed.
“I’m thankful nobody got hurt,” Raider said. “It could have been a lot worse.”
