James T. Gover

1928-2016

James T. Gover, 88, of Stanford, Ky., passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2016, at home. Born March 26, 1928, in Lincoln County, Ky. to the late James and Lillie Bee McCormick Gover, he was the widower of the late Joleta West Gover.

He was a lifelong dairy and crop farmer, and was a member of Stanford Christian Church.

He is survived by one son, Bryan Gover (Jennifer) of Stanford, Ky.; four daughters, Jamie Martin (Dr. M. Nicholas) of Lancaster, Ky., Betty Gover Lynn, and Gina Mullins (Dexter) both of Stanford, and Patty Gover Atwood of Lexington, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be today, Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, from 5-9 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the funeral home with Reverend Chester Cornett officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.

Casket bearers will be Fred Reichenbach, Spencer Clausen, Hunter Pipes, Bruce Young, Dave Williams, Kenny Stamper, Buddy Pence, and Tommy Owens. Honorary bearers are his caregivers Linda Douglas, Karen Taylor, Lisa Phillips, Vickie Perkins, and Dollie Brown.
