Danville Children’s Choirs did great job

Dear Editor,
Bravo to the Danville Children’s Choirs and their directors Amy Harrod and Ron Wilbur on the choirs’ exciting performance with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday, Nov. 11.
Joined by three college choirs, including the Centre Singers, they were the only children’s choir invited to sing Stephen Paulus’s oratoriao, “To Be Certain of the Dawn,” a moving remembrance of the Holocaust.
The children sang with pure tone, beautiful diction and sincere feeling in praise to God for hope, for dreams, for sunlight, and, at the end, they joined the college choirs in reminding us all “to love one another as yourself.” Such beauty, such inclusiveness, such healing reached every ear and heart in the packed concert hall.
You can hear the choir at Shakertown on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. Come hear the best children’s choir in the region!
