The Salvation Army kicked off its kettle donation season Monday morning at their locations at Kroger, Hobby Lobby and Walmart.
The Salvation Army partnered with the local radio station and had live music airing on the radio from members of the Salvation Army Brass Band.
Monday morning was a “community blast of information about who we are and what we do,” Salvation Army Captain Patrick Richmond said.
Richmond said every bell ringer is a volunteer and the Salvation Army is always looking for more people to volunteer and get involved.
“It’s beautiful to be blessed by their time and also be able to serve alongside them,” Richmond said.
Richmond said this year, The Salvation Army has a goal to raise $110,000 in their kettle campaign.
“I know it seems daunting, but I know this community can pull it together,” he said.
