FRANKFORT — A body found in Casey County over the weekend has been positively identified as a Russell County woman who went missing in the Dunnville area more than a year ago.
Whitney Danielle Copley, who was 24 when she disappeared, was identified by Kentucky’s chief medical examiner using dental records, according to Kentucky State Police.
“Preliminary autopsy results also indicated no trauma to the remains,” a news release from KSP reads. “The remains will now be taken to Knoxville, Tennessee, where a forensic anthropologist will begin working on a cause of death.”
Copley’s body was found in a wooded area near the DogWalk Market in Dunnville on Saturday.
Copley was last seen in the Dunnville area.
